WHOLE MAMA – WHOLE CHILD

I am a native Michigander now living just outside of Nashville on a small farm with my husband, two boys, dog, rescued horses, bunny, and chickens with more animals coming! I graduated from Michigan State University and began teaching English as a Second Language here in Tennessee for 8 1/2 years. I loved working with children from around the world, and learned so much from them and their experiences. I decided to stay home in 2016 to be with my oldest son. At that time, I also co-founded a non-profit called Hickory Hill Farm which continues to this day to provide animals and people with a place of peace, happiness, and healing.

After teaching for over 8 years and working with children through leadership and camp programs, I felt called to stay home with my boys to teach them at home on the farm.

In 2020, I started The Whole Mama blog, podcast, and mentoring business to inspire and support mothers – specifically homeschool mothers.  In 2022, I also felt called to start a farm school co-op that offers a peaceful place for children to learn about the beautiful world God has created through nature and farm studies.  It also serves as a space for mamas and their children to protect and honor the sacredness of childhood, strengthen children’s relationship with God’s natural world, and foster the development of the whole child and who they were called to be in this world.

I love farm life, teaching my boys and other children about God’s unending love for them and spending time outdoors.  I pray that I may help mamas bravely start and continue homeschooling with the tools and guidance they need to confidently and joyfully teach and disciple their children at home.  I do this through mentorship, printed materials/resources, and our farm school with other exciting ways coming in 2023! I hope that my guidance will serve as a reminder of why mothers rise each day to build faith and character, educate, and reclaim the childhood their children deserve.

We love our life on the farm, teaching our boys about Jesus’s love, spending time outdoors, snacks, muddy boots, movie nights, road trips, SNACKS, hiking, classic rock, SNACKS, and more. Did I say snacks? They literally eat ALL day!

When I’m not wrangling up my boys, I love to cook, travel, hike, watch Food Network/Magnolia Network, a good cup of coffee or wine, live music, and grow personally and professionally through the Bible, inspirational books, workshops and conferences, mentorship, and podcasts.

I am so glad you stopped by, and I hope you will visit again soon!
